Contents

Are you an entrepreneur? Are you considering an entrepreneurial career or work in a small, agile and rapidly growing firm? Would you like to get a sense of what it feels to be a part of an engineering start-up team and deal with start-up challenges on a daily basis? In all these cases, this course is for you! Despite the rising popularity of entrepreneurship, start-up culture brings its own unique set of challenges and problems that its leaders must commit to addressing. A number of technical, engineering challenges await a start-up already at the stages of product/service development, proof of concept and prototyping. Furthermore, multiple managerial issues constantly emerge – dealing with limited resources and fierce competition, a need to build external relations being a small firm, a need in a constant change and agility along with a mission to grow rapidly.

The course is designed in a way that every student gets a chance to get a deep dive into the challenges of a real start-up and help the company in solving these challenges. Just like in a real-life situation, the real start-up firms invited to participate in managerial and strategic business challenges (business strategy, innovation, and new venture management), to be solved by the course students with the help of experienced mentors. The course encourages lean start-up and social entrepreneurship principles in dealing with entrepreneurial challenges. (Edit. 3.6.2019)
