Aims 

After successfully completing the course, students are able to:

- Apply their knowledge in design of thinking methods
- Analyze and develop design proposals in interdisciplinary projects
- Identify and apply various aspects of design methodologies in product development
- Apply their knowledge about the traditional thinking and creative thinking
- Evaluate and justify new ideas in development of user based design methods and processes

- Evaluation and analysis of methods and creative processes
- Research in design
- Applying new processes in creation of novel products and services
- User based design methods
- Design based disciplines supporting multi-disciplinary problem solving approach
- The development of innovative products and services with focus on customers’ needs and expectations.

 
Teaching Methods 

Lectures 36 h, practical exercises, project assignments and seminars 30 h, independent study including final project 38 h. Total workload 104 h. (Lectures and exercise sessions will be arranged in Lahti campus)
