After completing the course, the student will be able to
- Describe existing theories and methods about the relation between consumer and product
- identify and recognize various design concepts
- Design new geometries using certain type of material and considering compatible manufacturing techniques
- Describe effective product development method and the requirements regarding design and implementation of a new product
- Describe the main manufacturing processes considering materials, applications and economics
- Define the manufacturing processes considering different parameters of production such as equipment, tooling, material and production volume
- Identify a proper manufacturing process based on production chain to produce final product or part.

- Key concepts using in product design
- Product development process and R&D strategy and project management
- Product design process based on the perceptual understanding of the user from the product
- Manufacturing technologies, product areas, production material and technical production parameters.
- Process selection, development and optimization

- Functional and technical requirements from engineering perspectives
- Transformation of design concepts to product design and balancing aesthetic and visual perspectives with functionality and technical perspectives
