After completing the course, students will be able to

  • identify many-sided ways of promoting entrepreneurship
  • interpret the motives behind entrepreneurship policy
  • understand the role of entrepreneurship within the Finnish and European context
  • analyze the challenges, barriers and goals set for enterprise promotion
  • analyze and enhance ones entrepreneurial characteristics
  • understand the meanings of enterprise promotion actions

The different levels of entrepreneurship promotion, objectives, challenges. National and international policies guiding entrepreneurship promotion. Recent research on entrepreneurship promotion and the role of entrepreneurship in modern economy. Conflicting values associated with entrepreneurship discourse and paradigms. Entrepreneurship education as a way to promote entrepreneurship.

Teaching Methods 

Lectures 20 h, prior reading and lecture assignments 25 h, course assignment, presentation and peer evaluation 42 h, preparation for lectures 24 h, preparation for the exam 45 h. In total 156 h.
For doctoral students the teaching methods will be separately considered.
