Aims 

After completing the course students will be able to:

  • evaluate the role of financial and cost management as part of strategic management process and competitive strategy
  • analyze changes in the business environment and their impact on the evolving controller’s function and cost management trends
  • produce information and complete calculations for different decision-making situations by applying strategic cost management methods
 
Contents 

The course covers innovative approaches in cost management such as activity-based costing, product and customer profitability analysis and value chain analysis. Controller's role.

 
Teaching Methods 

Lectures 23 h, written home assignments 30 h, exercises and seminars 10 h, case assignments in groups 30 h, preparation for lectures and exercises 22 h and preparing for exams and taking the exams 45 h. Total workload 160 h.
