Aims 

After having completed the course, student should be able to:

  • recognise the role, place and institutions of invention in innovation process/ business.
  • model a problem situation as a contradiction and invent by applying standard methods of their elimination.
  • formulate various models of inventive (to be) solutions, suggest practical implementation of models.
  • find patents/papers on the subject of inventive problem, landscape the state of art in the problem.
 
Contents 

Introduction: creativity, invention, innovation. Thinking inertia and other invention killers. Tools for creativity support and place of TRIZ among them. History of TRIZ.
Part 1. Patens, Patent search, Intellectual property
Part 2. Function, function definition
Part 3. Function oriented search. Biomimetics
Part 4 Axiom of Ideality in TRIZ, Ideal Final Result.
Part 5. Contradiction analysis and elimination. Invention as contradiction elimination.

 
Teaching Methods 

Online course: virtual lectures (videos, texts) 24 h, quizes and exercises 10 h, online discussions 10 h, assignments 20 h, peer review 10 h, WebEx 4 h. Total workload 78 h.
