Aims 

After completionof the course students will be able to

1. explainthe central concepts of innovation and technology management

2.analyze alternative innovation strategies and processes

3.explain the different phases and aspects of corporate innovation activitythrough lifecycle based reasoning

4. explainthe importance of networks and IPR in innovation and technology management

5. applyinnovation and technology management principles to a problem

6. understandinnovation activity as part of sustainable business practice.

 
Contents 

Managing newproduct development projects. Comparing product and service development. Marketing aspects within innovation management. Product lifecycle managementand diffusion of innovations. Strategic management of innovation. Collaborativedevelopment in networks. Basics of IPR.
Complementary knowledge: Product platforms, work-related inventions, principleof open innovation, sustainable development within innovation. The course is related to sustainable development.

 
Teaching Methods 

3. period: Lectures 12 h, exercises 6 h, preparing for lectures, exercises, caseassignments and personal learning exercises 62 h.

4.period: Lectures 6 h, exercises 2 h, preparing for lectures, exercises, case assignments and personal learning exercises 27 h, group exam and preparing for exam 40 h.
