After completing the course, students will be able to:
- explain the concepts of strategic planning
- utilize the strategic analysis techniques in analyzing firm external environment and firm internal performance
- define the sources of competitive advantage
- apply methods for creating strategic options and selection
- explain how to organize business and how to manage strategic change
- apply strategy formulation in practice.
Introduction to strategic planning, environmental analysis, strategic capability, methods of strategic analysis, corporate- and business level strategies, strategy implementation and follow-up, strategic change and cooperation, financial planning as a part of strategy, strategic choices.
Period 1: Lectures and exercises 10 h, 4h workshop, independent work and reading lecture material 16 h, group work and report 30 h.
Period 2: Lectures and exercises 8 h, group work, report and seminar 38 h, essays 44 h. Total 150 h. The project work will be realized as group work.
