After completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Distinguish the key elements of business models and stronger sustainability
  • Analyze the means and mechanisms through which sustainable business models can be promoted
  • Recognize the business model change drivers and restrictive factors
  • Design business model concepts
  • Assess the viability and implementation options of business models.

Business model concepts, theories and frameworks. Objectives and principles of stronger sustainability and their linkages to business models. Sustainable business model archetypes. Earning logics in sustainable economy. Business models pertaining to de-materialization, resource efficiency, circular economy and product-service systems. Methods for analyzing and designing business models. Business model change and dynamics. Role of business environment in advancing sustainable business.

Teaching Methods 

Lectures 14 h (incl. also online lectures), exercises 14 h (incl. also indipendent exercises), written reports (includes familiarizing with literature and case company materials) 130 h, 3. period. Total work load 158 h.
